Jacksonville, Floridian John Touchton’s second collection of ritualistic synthesizer music, Occlusions, is less a soundtrack than its own sunken realm. Routing a grid of hardware through a trio of vintage amps before capturing it on Tascam infuses the songs with a visceral physical dimension, electronic throbs strafed with signal buzz and low corridors of drum machinery.

The tracks swerve from mechanical raga (“Black Shine Bright”) to tranced night drives (“Death By Empire”) to Heathen Earth bass trenches (“Occluded”), but share a processional heaviness and humid pulse. Six stalker hallucinations born beneath the shadow of dawn.
